This space is home to #DiverseBookBloggers Directory, a reference site for bloggers from marginalized groups as well as allies promoting diverse books. This directory can work as your guide to finding diverse bloggers and books and it will connect diverse book bloggers with their community. We also hope that #ownvoices authors and their publishers looking to find reviewers will utilize this directory.
Please note that the directory is a work in progress. I have started adding blogs, but we want to amplify your voice, so please fill out this form to describe yourself and your blog in your own words. An index as well as a resource page will be up soon.
If you’re a diverse book bloggers and would like to join the directory, click the page ‘Add your blog’ above. Please also send me a photo of your header or you, which you’d like to see in your entry. We welcome submissions, but as our goal is to promote diversity some regulations apply:
*Your blog is a review/discussion blog, not an author blog
*Your blog emphasizes content that promotes #ownvoices authors and diverse reading habits
*You are a member of a marginalized community (LGBTQIA+, Person of Color, disability, …) who blogs mostly about diverse literature.
Please note that it may take a week or two until you can see your blog in the directory!
Make some noise!
@_diversebooks’s guide for keeping the #DiverseBookBloggers conversation alive and thriving:
- When you write a review for your blog, please share on Twitter using the #DiverseBookBloggers hashtag if the book is written by an #ownvoices author.
- Feel free to use the hashtag as a safe space to discuss issues personal to you or other issues in the book/blogging/publishing communities.
- Please retweet any tweets using the hashtag to help it spread and get noticed more widely.
Feel free to contact me with any concerns and questions!
